Jacqueline Belle Fleur Photography is the work of Jacqueline Gedonius. She is a NJ based photographer specializing in newborns, children, maternity and families. She photographs on location throughout the state and in her studio in Cranford.

Pretty in Purple — Newborn Girl Photography

Not all of the photos I took of this cutie were Valentine’s Day themed (you can see those here and here). We also made her pretty in purple with a lavender swaddle and nestled her into a cozy long-hair blankie. A fuzzy flower wrapped around her sweet head completes the purple ensemble. She has the longest fingers, and I love them peeking out! She looks like she’s deep in thought in her sleep — this girl is going to be quite the thinker. Beauty and brains!

Cupid’s in Town — Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Isn’t this the most adorable Cupid you’ve ever seen? She has the sweetest, almost sad expression that just melts my heart, and her lips look ready to give kisses! Her burlap wings and bow and arrow tie in with the twine on the wreath, and the red bows on her headband go perfectly with the roses. I’m officially in love, and I know her parents are too!

This image, of course, was achieved thanks to some post-production magic, so don’t worry, she’s not in any danger. I have so much fun redecorating my wreath for different seasons, holidays and occasions, and this Valentine’s Day version is definitely one of my favorites. I hope you all have a day full of snuggles with your little ones!

LOVE Is In the Air — Newborn Photos for Valentine’s Day

LOVE is in the air at the studio this week! I had so much fun with this Valentine’s Day newborn session. This little lovebug’s mom really likes the holiday, so we played with fresh rose petals and ALL the pink props. Even the wood backdrop is pink. I think the result is sweet as candy and just perfect for a brand-new baby girl. So pretty in pink!

All a new baby really needs is love, and this one is definitely surrounded by it. Congratulations to the family on their new Valentine! I think she’s going to be tall — look at those long fingers and feet!

Newborn Details — Piggies, Fingers and More

Most parents and many photographers don’t think to capture the little details of newborns, like toes, fingers, lips and hair. These might not be the most liked images on social media, or the ones you get printed on large canvases to decorate your walls, but they’re so important to have.

Newborns change so much in the first few weeks of life, and parents are often in such a fog of sleeplessness and trying to figure out a new little person, they won’t remember the perfect pucker of those little lips, the shapes of all those tiny toes, the way the soft, fuzzy hair swirls in the back, or how those fragile fingers lay. As many times as they’ll clip those teeny nails, they’ll soon forget just how small they really were.

I love to help my clients create lasting memories of this most special time. I hope that when they look back at these macro shots once their little ones are bigger, it helps transport them for a moment, and they can almost feel that soft skin and smell that fresh newborn scent all over again.

Newborn Photography — Two Little Birds

“Sweet bird, my soul, your silence is so precious.

I consider newborn photography an art form, and this tree composition with two little birds in a nest is my most recent masterpiece. Imagery of trees, nests and birds are often used to symbolize birth, growth and the relationship between mothers and babies. It was a joy to see this all come together, from the thick, gnarled trunk, to each carefully placed leaf and berry cluster. Our sweet little live birdie (who has gorgeous head of hair!) was cozy in the nest with the artificial one, and was blissfully unaware of all the styling going on. This is sure to be a treasured family heirloom.
