Vintage Floral 1st Birthday Cake Smash

This girl is just “tutu” cute! Her vintage floral 1st birthday cake smash session turned out just adorable. Not only did she smash her cake — she stomped it! (Sorry, Kimmy! The namesake baker extraordinaire of Kimmy’s Cakes made the perfectly smooth pink fondant cake with gold accents.) Luckily we were able to get some sweet portraits with the vintage furniture before baby girl got down to business.

Some of the expressions we captured are just priceless. Check out the one where her eyes are closed as she stuffs cake into her mouth with both hands. Don’t we all wish we could enjoy cake like that?! She was equally excited by the confetti-filled balloons and fake flowers on the floor and around the shabby chic teepee. Oh, what fun to be one!

I know how busy parents are, so I do all the errand-running, crafting and styling for you. You just bring the baby in his or her adorable outfit!

I’m excited to offer the following additional themes this year, many of which work well for both boys and girls: unicorns, airplanes, hot air balloons, carnival, sailing, “Down on the Farm,” Bohemian “Wild One” with arrows, “Where the Wild Things Are,” music, Cookie Monster, Mickey Mouse, lavender fields, carousel, Paris, ballerinas, blue stars, angel and clouds, and woodland animals. You can even just pick a color scheme, and we’ll roll with that!

Milestone Sessions — Sweet Little Sitter

I just love all of the milestone sessions I’ve been doing lately with “sitters.” Those are babies around six to nine months old who can sit up, but not crawl or walk. Unlike sleepy newborns, they’re bright-eyed and alert, taking everything in. But they can’t get away like young toddlers, haha!

This precious girl was a delight to work with. I love the softness and innocence we were able to capture on the light, neutral background with pale pink and off-white outfits and accessories. The slender wooden rocking horse and vintage metal cradle add even more sweetness. She was so taken by the faux roses, fuzzy blankets and of course her toes! I always get closeups of the hands and feet since they’re only that small for a short time. *sniffle*

She got to play with lavender flowers when we put her in the gray bowl with the charcoal background and purple accents. Look at the curve of her forehead and oh, those cheeks! I love to zoom in and focus on the eyelashes when babies are looking down. I can’t wait to see how much this little doll grows and changes by the time I see her again for her first birthday cake smash!

Rosy Studio Sitter Session

Roses were a recurring theme for this little cutie’s sitter session in the studio. Rose headbands, rose props and rosettes on her dresses all enhanced her gorgeous complexion and pink pouty lips. Sitters, or babies who can sit up but aren’t mobile yet, have the most delicious baby fat. I mean, look at those thigh rolls! Love ’em.

This curly-haired girl was so sassy in her little copper bracelets. She had the best time grabbing her feet and all the props. She was a trooper through five different outfit changes in front of two different backdrops. I think my favorite is the sweet crocheted tube top romper. Her big brown eyes just lit up the studio, and I bet they get her just about anything she wants!

Little Red Wagon — 7 Month Old Outdoor Session

Babies who can sit up don’t just have to sit on blankets for photos … how cute is this 7 month old chap in his little red wagon? And the vintage crate! Look at that sweet big toe poking out the side. Peek-a-boo! I’m so excited to be booking outdoor baby sessions for the upcoming warmer months. Let’s just pretend we’re not about to get another huge snowstorm on the second day of spring.

This guy was cool and comfy in his old-timey overalls and newsboy hat. Can we talk about his eyes for a minute? They’re absolutely dreamy! I just want to tousle his little tuft of hair that comes down the middle of his sweet forehead. His pose in the last shot is priceless — the way he’s leaning in toward the wagon handle with a twinkle in his eye. I can almost feel the golden evening sunshine in the background. Come on, spring!

2018 Mommy & Me Sessions

Announcing 2018 Mommy & Me Sessions!

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we will be offering a VERY LIMITED number of Mommy & Me sessions, which make the perfect gift! The mom in your life will absolutely cherish captures of her with her little(s). These special sessions will be held in the late afternoon (after school) at one of three beautiful locations within 30 minutes of Cranford:

Monday, April 9 — Cherry Blossoms (Rain Date Tuesday, April 10)
Monday, April 16 — Yellow Clover in the Forest (Rain Date Wednesday, April 18)
Thursday, May 31st — Ivy & Rose Garden (Rain Date Thursday, June 7)

These shots of London and Leila in the garden with their mama will give you a feel for what you can expect: gorgeous spring scenery, beautiful natural light and lots of maternal love, preserved on camera forever. Matching or coordinating outfits not required, but absolutely recommended!

Each session is 30 minutes and includes 10 hi-res digital images via digital transfer for $395 plus tax. Moms with children under the age of 10 only. Sorry, no dads. No shared sessions. No refunds. Please be flexible and make sure you are able to save the rain date prior to booking. Note that dates for clover and cherry blossoms may need to shift depending upon weather.
